generation Y

Generation Y will account for 3 billion people by 2015 making up 45% of the population.  97% own a computer, 94% a cell phone, 76% use instant messenger, 43% are regular blog readers.  If you believe TV, radio, print media and billboards are all that’s required for a successful marketing campaign then think again.

It’s not all bad news of course.  With the right approach and a solid strategy it can in fact be LESS EXPENSIVE to build a loyal fan base of customers, you just gotta know what you’re doing..

For the past 2 years the Nudge Marketing team have been producing the Gen Y Marketing Podcast, a fortnightly show looking at marketing news focused at Generation Y.  This serves two purposes, firstly it gives up an opportunity to talk about what we love (gen y marketing) but more importantly ensures we are always up to date with marketing trends focused at the Generation Y demographic.  Through our consulting work we are able to leverage this knowledge to assist you in developing a strategy that truly connects with your target audience.

new media

No doubt words like facebook and YouTube have cropped up in your marketing strategy more than once. But for every facebook group with 10,000 members there are hundreds that never get noticed and for every YouTube video with over a million views there are literally millions that have been seen less than 10 times.

A new media campaign can be brilliant if done correctly but it can be equally as damaging if conducted without a clear understanding of HOW new media works.

When it comes to potential “bang for your buck” new media campaigns stand head and shoulders above its competitors.  Many of the services offered up in the new media landscape cost nothing to use and have the potential to reach a worldwide audience of millions.

The Nudge Marketing team know these tools, use these tools and most importantly understand the unwritten rules of how these tools are to be used effectively.  If you have ever considered dipping your toes into the new media marketing world but have no idea where to start then Nudge can help.  If you haven’t considered it, you should.

Let’s face it; Generation Y is a fickle market.  TV no longer reigns supreme, radio barley rates a mention and print media has been dropped for the convenience of blogs and specialist websites.  So how do you market to a highly fragmented, marketing savvy generation of cashed up consumers?  That’s where Nudge can help.

What used to work in traditional marketing can no longer be counted on to connect with the Gen Y market.  It takes care, an emphasis on brand building and, most of all, an understanding of the "Rules" Gen Y and new media live by.

The guys at Nudge Marketing live and breathe new media, paying particular attention to the constant evolution of the new marketing landscape.  If building a brand, opening a dialogue and making a real connection with consumers is important to you, then you have come to the right place.
